On Thursday 19 September, come and meet Michael Bruter, Professor of Political Science and expert on electoral psychology and Saïda Sakali, King Baudoujn Foundation, at a special edition of our monthly Brussels #DemocracyDrinks.

Join us for an informal exchange about the psychology of democracy, followed by networking drinks.

Together with 15 other civil society organisations, Defend Democracy calls on President Von der Leyen to:

1) install a dedicated VP or Commissioner for Democracy with a dedicated DG Democracy;

2) create an independent EU Democracy Fund;

3) invest in stronger democracy, societal resilience and civil preparedness.

On 4 July, Lithuania's Embassy to the Netherlands hosted Defend Democracy director Alice Stollmeyer to exchange with a group of young people about what we can learn from the Baltic countries about building resilient democracies and supporting Ukraine to win.
