Meeting the Head of Council of Europe in Brussels

On 17 February, we brought together our community of democracy defenders for an informal exchange with with Ukrainian Ambassador Zayats, Head of Council of Europe in Brussels and former foreign policy adviser to Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council. We discussed whether 2026 will bring peace and justice for Ukraine.

Follow The Money asked Defend Democracy about the EU Commission's 'European Centre for Democratic Resilience'.

“I doubt the Centre will acknowledge that there now is a new foreign threat actor, namely the US under the Trump regime, which is openly interfering in our democracies,” Stollmeyer explained. “Domestic disinformation campaigns, for example by Viktor Orbán’s regime”, will also likely be overlooked.
