Defend Democracy launches WebWatch

WebWatch is the new tech watchdog by Defend Democracy. We monitor, analyse and expose if and what is going wrong. The aim is to reduce the impact of manipulation, deception and disinformation, and also to increase digital literacy.

Invest in democratic security like defence

On the very day that President Trump threatened to impose retaliatory tariffs over digital regulation or digital taxes, Defend Democracy director Stollmeyer addressed politicians from across the Baltic Sea Region on how the new U.S. administration is distorting our European digital laws.

"The Trump regime wants regime change in the European Union, framing our digital laws as censorship. With Trump, Putin and techbros teaming up, it is time we stand up to defend democracy while we still can."

"We urge stronger EU action to defend democracy. Facing internal and external threats, we call to reinforce the Democracy Shield with a new MFF to uphold EU values and funding for civil society; tougher action on disinformation."
